INTERVIEW GUIDELINES

Round 1 : Technical Round 1

• To clear this round you should be well prepared with Data structures and Algorithms, DBMS, Operating Systems, Networking
• The candidate is expected to write codes during the interview. (Mostly LeetCode Standard Problem)

Questions:

• What would you prefer SQL or NoSQL and why?
• What is the query key in the database?
• How do you implement a HashMap?
• Explain some implement methods from commonly used libraries.
• What is the longest possible subsequence?
• How is unit testing done?
• What is UML in programming?
• Reverse each word in a given string.
• Find non-repeating characters in a stream.
• Count all the possible ways to construct buildings such that there’s a space between any two buildings.
• Find loop in linked list and remove it?
• Prove p^2-1 is divisible by 24 given p is a prime number?
• 2 tables having GB’s of data with no index on any col. You want to fecth the data from join of these tables, what will you do?

Round 2 : Technical Round 2

• System Design Round
• They can ask the candidate to code on paper
• Case based technical questions
• CS fundamentals can also be asked

• Design IRCTC type database and draw ER diagrams.
• Implement a hashtable.
• Write a code to represent a linked list in reverse order of digits.
• Design Google News-stand like system.
• Create a prototype of a bank similar to the ones used in PayU.
• Check whether two given strings are anagram or not.
• Sort Array of 0s and 1s in one traversal.
• Database optimization techniques? Indexing and many other ways?
• You are standing at point 0,0 in begining. You can move in East(0),West(1),North(3),South(4) any number of steps. Input will be like (0(E),2)-> (1(W),2)-> (3(N),2)->(4(S),1)->(1(W),3) Where will you cross your path?

Round 3 : HR Round

• Expect general HR questions but sometimes they ask technical questions in this round as well
• Check if you are fit for the role

• Why PayU?
• Where do you see yourself five years from now?
• What are your strengths and weaknesses?
• Why not higher studies?
• Most challenging moments in your college life.
• Why do you want to leave your current organization?
• Tell me about your previous projects and internships.
• What are your expectations from this role and the company?
• What do you know about PayU?
