  • Based on-site at Alpha School's Brownsville, TX campus
  • W2 salary of $100,000/year, disbursed weekly. Health benefits begin on day one.
  • Relocation assistance provided for candidates committing to a full school year on campus

You've dedicated years to coaching kids — not simply instructing them. You understand the distinction: coaches connect, push boundaries, and refuse to accept anything less than a student's best effort. Teachers distribute content. You've never functioned as a content distribution mechanism.

Alpha operates the most unconventional school model you'll encounter. Students don't occupy rows while being lectured. They progress through AI-driven learning platforms at individualized paces. AI manages the instructional delivery. Your responsibility is facilitating life skills workshops that command the attention of K-8 students, conducting motivation sessions that drive them toward weekly learning targets, and maintaining standards when a student attempts to underperform. The academic progression handles itself. You manage the human dimension.

This position offers a meaningful growth trajectory, and that trajectory leads to deeper student impact. Those who consistently achieve their metrics (100% cohort attainment of weekly app targets, satisfaction scores exceeding 90%) advance into Lead Guide positions where they mentor other educators in refining this approach. Students remain the focus.

The campus sits in Brownsville, adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If your motivation for leaving your current position centers on mission — transforming what a child believes about their own potential — rather than resume enhancement, submit your application.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students addressing public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have authentically mastered the skill, not merely attended
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions leveraging student profiles, interests, and Coachbot analytics to achieve 100% cohort completion of weekly app progression targets
  • Employing storytelling, incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and individual connection to overcome student resistance
  • Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores to maintain a 90%+ benchmark on student surveys

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Presenting at a whiteboard delivering lectures. Students progress academically via self-directed AI-powered platforms, not through direct instruction from you.
  • Providing passive supervision. Children working on computers describes the environment; active engagement defines the role.
  • Compromising standards when students resist. Test2Pass requirements remain firm, independent of whether a student faces a challenging week.
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up. Lesson frameworks and workshop guides are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the presence and narrative skill that ensures genuine student absorption.
  • Handling parent relations, conducting admissions processes, or supervising campus operations. Those functions belong to separate roles.

Consultant Key Responsibilities

Guide a cohort of K-8 students to achieve 100% of their weekly academic targets while facilitating life skills workshops maintaining 90%+ satisfaction scores.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 (elementary and middle school) students
  • Strong storytelling and facilitation presence — capable of maintaining child engagement throughout hour-long sessions
  • Available to work on-site at the Alpha campus located in Brownsville, TX
  • Authorized to work legally in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program coordinator
  • Demonstrated history of high achievement in competitive settings (academic, athletic, or professional)
  • Familiarity with self-directed or app-based educational environments
