  • On-site position at Alpha School's Brownsville, TX campus
  • $100,000/year W2 compensation, distributed weekly. Health benefits begin day one.
  • Relocation assistance available for a one-school-year campus commitment

Your experience has been in coaching kids — not merely instructing them. You understand the distinction: a coach connects deeply, challenges consistently, and holds students accountable to their highest potential. A teacher dispenses information. You've never operated as an information dispensing system.

Alpha operates the most unconventional school model you'll encounter. Students don't occupy rows listening to lectures. They progress through AI-driven learning platforms at individualized paces. AI manages the instructional delivery. Your responsibility is facilitating life skills workshops that command K-8 students' attention, conducting motivation sessions that drive them toward weekly learning targets, and maintaining standards when a student attempts to disengage. The academic progression is automated. You manage the human dimension.

This position offers a performance ceiling worth pursuing, and that ceiling is expanded student impact. Educators who consistently achieve their metrics (100% cohort achievement of weekly app targets, 90%+ satisfaction ratings) advance into Lead Guide positions where they mentor other educators on executing this work effectively. Students remain the focus.

The campus sits in Brownsville, adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If your motivation for leaving your current position is the mission — transforming what a child believes about their own capacity — rather than résumé enhancement, submit your application.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops with K-8 students on topics including public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have authentically acquired the skill, not simply attended the session
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions leveraging student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to achieve 100% cohort completion of weekly app progression goals
  • Employing storytelling techniques, incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and individual relationships to overcome student resistance
  • Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores with a 90%+ target on student surveys

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Presenting at a whiteboard and lecturing. Students progress academically via self-directed AI-powered platforms, not through your instruction.
  • Providing passive supervision. Children working on computers describes the environment; active engagement defines the role.
  • Reducing standards when students resist. Test2Pass benchmarks remain firm, independent of whether a student is experiencing a difficult week.
  • Creating curriculum independently. Lesson frameworks and workshop scripts are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the presence and narrative skill that ensures genuine student comprehension.
  • Handling parent communications, conducting admissions processes, or supervising campus administration. Those functions belong to different roles.

Business Consultant Key Responsibilities

  • Legal authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program coordinator
